Welcome to My Alcohol-Freedom Journey
Hello, my name is Lauri and I’m so glad you’re here. I've worked as a medicolegal death investigator and a volunteer EMS provider most of my life, I’ve witnessed the profound impact that life choices—both good and bad—can have on individuals and their loved ones. Through those experiences, I’ve cultivated a deep sense of compassion and a commitment to helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives. My hope is to touch someone's life, make a difference and show them a life without alcohol is possible.
Alcohol has impacted my life personally. My brother died at a young age from alcohol use and I found my relationship with alcohol changing when I was at the peak of my career. Like many in my field, alcohol became a go to for stress relief and relaxation at the end of the day. Although there was no one event or rock bottom, I didn't like how alcohol was showing up in my life. It became a vicious cycle until I found Annie Grace and This Naked Mind. Through a combination of science based methods and self-compassion, I was able to make alcohol small and irrelevant. The process was one of self-discovery and finding my "why" which made the rest of the journey smooth and effortless. Alcohol was initially the focus, but as I started digging in and doing the work, so much else emerged, opening me up to rediscover joy and happiness in my life. I want to share that experience with you.
My passion and belief in the methodology, along with my drive to help others find the same freedom led me to coach training with This Naked Mind Institute. Today, my focus is guiding individuals to become alcohol-free or develop a healthier relationship with alcohol. I believe in creating a judgment-free, supportive environment where you can explore your goals, overcome challenges, and step into the life you truly deserve.
Whether you’re seeking freedom from alcohol or simply looking to shift your habits, I am here to support you with understanding, dedication, and personalized care. Together, we can take the first step toward your brighter, alcohol-free future.

Alcohol-freedom coaching is a personalized approach to helping individuals break free from their reliance on alcohol and embrace a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle. Through guidance, support, and practical tools, an alcohol-freedom coach helps clients explore their relationship with alcohol, challenge limiting beliefs, and build habits that align with their goals. This coaching is rooted in compassion and empowerment, providing a safe space for self-discovery and transformation without judgment or shame. It’s not about deprivation—it’s about gaining freedom, clarity, and confidence in living life alcohol-free.
The key difference between alcohol-freedom coaching and counseling lies in their focus and approach. Alcohol-freedom coaching is forward-focused, emphasizing personal growth, goal-setting, and practical strategies to empower individuals to live an alcohol-free life. It’s a collaborative, action-oriented process designed for people who are ready to make positive changes and explore their potential. Counseling, on the other hand, often delves deeper into the emotional and psychological roots of alcohol use, addressing past trauma or mental health concerns. While coaching centers on building a thriving future, counseling provides therapeutic support to process and heal from underlying issues.
My approach stands apart from traditional programs by focusing on empowerment, curiosity, and self-discovery rather than fear, guilt, or rigid abstinence.
I prioritize addressing the root causes of alcohol dependence through education and self-awareness, helping clients understand the societal, emotional, and psychological factors that drive their drinking habits. Instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all program, I tailor coaching to each client’s unique journey, empowering them to redefine their relationship with alcohol at their own pace.
Free Spirits AF moves away from traditional labels like “alcoholic,” creating a space that normalizes the exploration of an alcohol-free lifestyle for anyone—whether you are struggling with addiction or simply seeking greater clarity and health, my supportive, nonjudgmental approach fosters lasting change by focusing on building a fulfilling, alcohol-free life rooted in joy, connection, and purpose.
Free Spirits AF offers individualized programs that align with your needs and desired outcomes. We provided 1:1 sessions , couples and group coaching. Please schedule a discovery call to discuss what would work best for you.
I use Annie Grace's (This Naked Mind) concept of “the pause” which is a foundational tool for exploring your relationship with alcohol without immediate pressure to quit. This pause allows individuals to continue drinking while they begin to gather valuable data points about their habits, emotions, and triggers. Rather than approaching change with restriction or willpower, this method emphasizes curiosity and self-compassion. By observing and reflecting on how alcohol impacts various aspects of life—such as mood, energy, relationships, and overall well-being—clients are empowered to make informed, conscious decisions about drinking. In my coaching, I embrace this philosophy, creating a judgment-free space where you can take your time, explore these insights, and develop sustainable strategies for long-term freedom from alcohol.
Unfortunately, most health insurances do not cover coaching. Some employers do allow flex spending or health savings accounts to be used for this purpose. It's important to know that you are investing in YOU. Can you put a price on a happier, healthy life where you are free from the power of alcohol?
Book a 30 minute Discovery call. This call helps establish where you are currently with your relationship with alcohol and where you would like to be. I will answer questions about our programs and help design a program that best fits your needs. Reach out if you have additional questions.
I am deeply committed to living a life rooted in authenticity, health, and freedom from alcohol. Choosing an alcohol-free lifestyle is not just about what we leave behind but about what we gain—a clearer mind, stronger relationships, and a renewed sense of purpose. I hold myself accountable to this path daily, embracing the challenges and joys of living in alignment with my values. My commitment to an alcohol-free life is a promise I make to myself and to those I support in their journey.
My approach is grounded in compassion, education, and empowerment. I understand the societal pressures and personal struggles that often accompany this choice, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their relationship with alcohol. Through evidence-based practices, personal insights, and unwavering encouragement, I support my clients in discovering the joy and liberation that come with an alcohol-free life.
Integrity is the foundation of everything we do at Free Spirits AF. I am committed to being a guide who leads by example, sharing not only my victories but also the lessons learned along the way. Together, we will dismantle the myths surrounding alcohol, break free from its hold, and embrace a healthier, more vibrant future. This is more than a program-it's a partnership rooted in trust, accountability, and shared growth.
If you are here, you are curious and curiosity is the first step. It's time to invest in YOU.
